Rev Wyn Hughes

Pastor


Born in Llandudno and brought up to attend chapel, I came to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ during my time at University in Aberystwyth. I was for four years a secondary school teacher, before being called to the Christian ministry. Serving for six years in Caergwrle north Wales, I became pastor of Heath church in 2005.

Rev Andy Christofides

Assistant Pastor


Born in 1957 and raised in the Yorkshire dales, Andy studied Chemistry to PhD level here in Cardiff. After working in London for five years as a chemist he began working for Heath as International student worker in 1987. From 2000 - 2021 Andy served as Pastor of St Mellons Baptist Church before returning to Heath as assistant pastor in February 2022. Andy is married to Jill, they have 6 children and 13 grandchildren.

Nathan Munday

Trainee Pastor


Nathan comes from Carmarthenshire, and he’s been our trainee minister since 2022. Born into a Christian family and then born again when he was seven years old. He’s married to Jenna from the Netherlands who he met in Heath’s International Open House. They have a little boy called Seth Johannes. Before being called into the ministry, Nathan worked in various sectors from academia to international development. A highlight for the Mundays was their period at Tŷ Mawr Wybrnant, a library in the wilderness and birthplace of Welsh Bible translator William Morgan. Nathan enjoys hillwalking, creative writing, and studying on the EMW’s Theological Training Course.

Dr Eryl Davies

Elder


From North Wales, Eryl was converted as a student in Aberystwyth then pastored churches in Maesteg ( near Bridgend) and Bangor , North Wales before teaching theology in what is now Union School of Theology . Married to Magwen with two children and two young grandchildren . Eryl enjoys lots of things including family times, research, writing, current affairs and when there is time---sport !

Richard Akrill

Born in 1943 and raised in a small village near Carmarthen. Worked in Swansea for 4 years in a Quantity Surveyors office before attending college in Pontypridd in 1964 to study, for 3 years, for a Chartered Surveyors qualification. Worked for a Local Authority in Cardiff for 28 years. Served as an officer on children's and young people's Christian camps for 40 years and for last 13 years has been doing part time farm evangelism in West Wales. Wyn is married to Angela and they have 2 children and 5 grand-children.

Keith Batstone

Elder


I was born in Cardiff in 1944 and have always lived here. I was converted in 1960 by the work of the Holy Spirit at the Heath Church youth group and became a member in 1964 and an elder in 1986. On early retirement from NHS management I worked for the church in pastoral visiting and helping the minister. I married Kate in 1971 and we have four children and three grandchildren. Soli Deo Gloria.

Paul Tench

Elder


Paul came to faith in 1961 as a student at Aberystwyth, and became a member of the church in 1965 during postgraduate studies in Cardiff. He was appointed an elder in 2005.

Kerry Orchard

Elder


I was born in 1949 to a Welsh-speaking mother and English father. I married Rose in 1972 after meeting her at Swansea University. We were converted at the Heath Church in 1974. We have 3 children and 9 grandchildren. I was Church Secretary for 20 years before becoming an Elder. I worked at the then Welsh Office for 24 years and latterly at what is now Union in Bridgend.

Alistair Barker

Elder


Alistair has been attending Heath Church since 1970 when he was a boy. He was converted at a Summer Camp at the age of 11 years and met Sue at church, marrying in 1988. They have two adult daughters. Alistair was Church Secretary from 2006 to 2013 and was elected as an Elder in 2005. Alistair works as an Educational Psychologist.

Levon Chorbadjian

Elder, Working among International Students & Young People


I was born in Cyprus in 1971 and became a Christian during my late teenage years. In 2000, I came to Cardiff to study and that's when I started attending Heath Evangelical Church. After my studies, I worked in a secondary education setting in Swansea and then in Cardiff for a total of ten years. Since 2013, I have been working for the church and in 2014 I got married to Nikki.

Fiona Steward

Working amongst women


Fiona became a Christian aged 14. She graduated in French at Canterbury university before studying further in France and working there for a short time. After God called her into full time Christian ministry, she studied theology in Wales. This was followed by over 8 years of missionary work among students in Bordeaux, France. She began working for the Heath Church in 2014 as Pastoral Lead for women.
