The garden at Casa Matei had just been planted but when the camp group were there in the summer it was a mass of greenery. Serafima loves to go to the well and she meets and chats with people on the way. She insisted on taking Albert and me with her. It was wonderful to see her interacting so normally with other people and underlined how the women have become a natural part of a real community in contrast to their closed life in Hincesti
