Capture womenWednesday, 10.15am (Church Hall)

Every Wednesday morning (term time), a group of women gather together for a short Bible Study. It is open to all ages, and we would love to see you whether you’re a student, a mother, or an elderly person. The meeting takes place in the Church Hall, and we begin by singing a few hymns. Keith Batstone then leads the Bible Study, usually going through a book of the Bible (e.g. John), a particular theme (e.g. faith) or the life of a Bible character (e.g. Joseph). It is an informal, interactive Bible study, with opportunities to ask questions and discuss topics, if you feel you would like to. A creche is also provided, so you can bring young children with you and leave them in safe hands whilst you benefit from the study. After the meeting, you can chat to the other women, enjoy a drink and a biscuit, and browse the bookstall, which is available most weeks. On the first and third week of the month some of the women stay on to pray together following the refreshments. Here’s what some of the women have to say about the meeting:

“I find it easier to talk in the women’s meeting than in other church meetings as it can be less intimidating. It gives me an opportunity to ask questions that have been on my mind.”

“Sometimes women have different issues to men, so it can be helpful to discuss them with each other. It’s lovely to get to know other women in the church, too, and there’s plenty of time after the meeting to chat and make friends.”

“The women’s meeting is like an oasis in the middle of the week. It really helps to refresh you, and if you can’t make it to the Monday evening Bible Study because of family commitments or some other reason, it’s great to be able to come here mid-week and have the same benefit and teaching.”
